Qoro Quando ja Queens of Qoro Quando menestyivät Göteborgissa järjestetyissä Grand Prix of Nations Gothenburg 2019 & European Choir Games -kilpailuissa. Qoro Quando osallistui kilpailun Grand Prix -sarjan kamarikuoro- ja hengellisen musiikin kategorioihin ja saavutti niissä molemmissa kultamitalitasoon oikeuttavat pisteet. Queens of Qoro Quando kisasi European Choir Games -sarjassa ja saavutti kilpailun kamarikuorokategoriassa kultamitalitason pisteet sijoittuen kategoriansa kolmen parhaan kuoron kärkeen. Queens of Qoro Quando kvalifioitui suorituksellaan myös Grand Prix of Nations -tasolle.

Grand Prix of Nations Gothenburg 2019 & European Choir Games -kilpailut järjestettiin Göteborgissa 3.-10.8.2019. Kilpailuihin osallistui yhteensä 171 kuoroa 47 eri maasta. Tapahtuma sisälsi kolme kilpailusarjaa: kaikille kuoroille avoimen ‘Open Competition’ -sarjan, eurooppalaisille jo kansainvälistä menestystä saavuttaneille kuoroille tarkoitetun ‘European Champions Competition’ -sarjan sekä maailmanlaajuisen jo enemmän kansainvälistä menestystä saavuttaneille kuoroille tarkoitetun ‘Grand Prix of Nations’ -sarjan. Kilpailut ovat rinnastettavissa EM- ja MM-kilpailuihin. Suomesta kilpailuihin osallistuivat myös Leticia-, Leticia Antique- ja Sorja-kuorot.

 

QORO QUANDO AND QUEENS OF QORO QUANDO ACHIEVE GOLD MEDALS IN WORLD CHAMPIONSHIPS AND EUROPEAN CHAMPIONSHIPS IN GOTHENBURG

Qoro Quando and Queens of Qoro Quando were successful in the Grand Prix of Nations Gothenburg 2019 and in the European Choir Games competition in Gothenburg. Qoro Quando took part in the Grand Prix portion of the competition in the categories of chamber choir and sacra a capella, achieving gold medals in both. The Queens of Qoro Quando took part in the competition’s European Choir Games portion, achieving a gold medal and coming third in the chamber choir category. Queens of Qoro Quando now qualifies for future Grand Prix of Nations competitions.

The Grand Prix of Nations Gothenburg 2019 and the European Choir Games were held in Gothenburg from the 3rd to the 10th of August 2019. Altogether one hundred and seventy one choirs participated in the competitions, representing forty seven nationalities. The whole event consisted of three separate series. The Open Competition, which was open to anyone, the European Champions Competition, which is open to European choirs which have already gained some success in previous competitions, and, finally, the Grand Prix of Nations, which is open only to choirs of significant renown. There were three other choirs from Finland in attendance; Leticia, Leticia Antique, and Sorja.
